Light & Flash Essentials
Light is the one ingredient every photograph is made of. This day starts with what is free — window light, shade and golden hour — then adds a single flash and shows you how far one light will actually take you.
What you’ll learn
- Seeing hard and soft light, and choosing between them
- Window portraits and reflector control without any flash
- One-flash basics: on-camera vs off-camera, and why it matters
- Balancing flash with daylight for natural-looking fill
- A repeatable one-light portrait setup for home or hall
- Mixing colour temperatures without weird skin tones
